SWINE FLU IN MEXICO, REPORT

Nowdays there levels of the swine flu spread had decreased importantly in the metropolitan area of Mexico City. And according to the official reports, the alert is in its lowest level, but necessary to keep prevention measures. Personally i have notices cenrtainly a more tranquil atmosphere last weeks in the city, but it is important to be cautions about the weather change noticed last days since the rain season seems to be arrived before than usual..

MARKETS IN MEXICO CITY AND AROUND

One of the most interesting things to visit in a country like Mexico is its markets, old ones, ancient ones, popular and ethnic ones. They often called "tianguis", places with a fixed place and schedule where can be find lot of interesting things that speak about the local culture. There are thousands, they were present and actually, created in the prehispanic period and from then they take their features. It is impossible to speak or even to mention all of them, even the most known, but i will be tray to be putting in this space as many as possible as a reference or guidance for the new visitor.

San Felipe de Jesus, situated in the area of the same name, in the north-east of Mexico city with subway stations no so far ( Impulsora and Martin Carrera). It is implemented sundays from early morning to more or less 5pm. All sort of things, stolen, old, food, clothing, machinery, shoes, music, etc, etc. Some people claim it is the biggest in Latin America, maybe yes.

CAUTION WITH SEAFOOD IN SOME PARTS OF MEXICO

It has been detected some cases of "red tide" in parts of the Mexico coast, specially in Chiapas state, this is certain quantities of microorganism due to temperature changes which can pollute water and being living there, so it is important to be cautious of eating food products on these days in those areas. Usually it doesn´t last for long..

TRAFFIC IN THE ROUTES BECAUSE OF THE HOLIDAYS

Traffic in the routes who come and go from the capital city have decreased importantly after the main holy-week holiday period has finished, so most of vacationist have returned to their homes and jobs. Anyhow and since the official holidays in government institutions got another extra week as usual, part of the people still out of the city, so next weekend there will be new mass of returners and therefore a new crowd at the entrances to the city..

CAUTIONS TRAVELING MEXICO

It is very important to observe certain cautions visiting Mexico, specially for certain touristic destinies because violence has increased incredibly. One of the main suggestions is not looking like having money, too much money, not showing off luxury articles, credit cards, or simply paying with big bills. If one is a "white" visitor and comes from a country where the language is not spanish, it is enough reason to be guessed as rich, so try to be humble and show you come from a rich country but you personally are not rich, unless you want to spend your holidays only inside a hotel with blue colored water pool and drinking cocos! . Be careful also when you get money out from from the ATM machine, specially in the airports, also if you change money in money exchange business, change little, get money in a supermarket or in a safe place with lot of people. In Mexico city specially there have been many assaults to foreigners after the took their money from machines. Remember always, moral changes, hard times change people, different cultures different rules. Take care of your life, in case of an assault, give your money, often people are doped or have the protection of mexican police, or are police themselves! ..they can shoot you down with not regret, cases like this happen often. All mexicans are that way? for sure no! there are still lot of very kind, warm mexicans who like to help and invite to strangers when they come to the country, they are curious about it, they are nice, but unfortunately, when one just arrived to this culture, it is almost impossible to note the difference between ones and others, so it is necessary to extreme cautions..

Xihuingo

Xihuingo is a very special place situated in to the northeast of the city, the distacen is about 130 kilometers and is not far from Teotihuacan, actually, some studies show the ruins of Xihuingo are related very possibly with those ones. Maybe its main aim of this city was working with cosmic knowledge becasue there are many geographical and cosmic marks, which contain annotations about sky facts. It is extremely interesting for people who feel puzzled with this kind of ancient knowledge. Unfortunately and since there is not control over the zone by institutions, people, some people have begun to destroy some parts, but even so, it is remaining in a very good shape..although some information calculate that due to time pass probably more than 80 percent has disappeared already. Vey nice place to visit. The easiest way to get there if you are not driving, is going to Central de Autobuses del Northe..north central of buses in the city, take on to Tepeapulco and Xihuingo is some 3 kilometers away in the road, and then one or a little more in a ground path. From Tepeapulco is easy to get a taxi to be taken there if one doesn´t want to walk under the burning sun of that area. Something more, be careful if you walk around the zone since there are Cascabel snakes which are very poisonous. Is it safe? well, as far as i have heard there are not reports of robbery or assaults, anyway as in most parts of Mexico, keep an eye quiet open.. And please, don`t destroy, dont leave trash, it is a real treasure...
